14th August, an Independence Day

Independence Day of every country is a gala day for its people. Pakistan is one of those lucky countries who are enjoying their existence on the world map as a free country. Pakistan came into being on 14th of August 1947. Thousands of sacrifices made by young and old people of the sub-continent who wanted to feel freedom. The freedom of Pakistan was the result of continuous struggle made by Quaid-e-Azam, Illama Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan etc.

In Pakistan 14th august is announced as the public holiday. On this day the whole nation pays tribute to the efforts made by their leaders and also by the masses. It is very high and alive among Pakistanis and it can be clearly seen on such national days when the whole nation becomes one to celebrate the happiness of being free. On the Independence Day in Pakistan people raise national flags on their houses, their vehicles, shops etc. Markets and houses are beautifully decorated. The stickers of Pakistani flags are sold in markets. Few people also paint Pakistan flag onto their faces to express love for their country. At night of the Independence Day all the markets are illuminated which are worth seeing. People, at night go to enjoy these beautiful decorations.

The whole day all the T.V channels and Radios demonstrate full patriotic feelings toward their country. National songs are played on radios and different talk shows related to the problems of the country are presented in which the great struggles of the great leaders are also discussed to let the people know the importance of having a free homeland for them. The day starts with the national anthem. All the political leaders go to the tomb of Quaid-e-Azam and Illama Iqbal for fatiah. This day is celebrated with full zeal and zest to enhance the spirit of patriotism among the whole nation.
