Baluchistan is a Province of Pakistan; it has its own culture and traditions. They lived in tents created from palm matting expanded on poles and Goat hair is used for the floor carpets in the tents. These are the permanent living places for the Balochi people in summer season. The houses in Balochistan are built from sundried bricks. Houses have an open courtyard in front and are made from low mud wall and palm barriers. In Balochistan women are considered as she has to follow her husband’s orders and should be very obedient to him. Balochi’s strongly avoided marriages outside the Balochi community. Balochi women also share the earning duty of their men.
The traditional cloth used by Balochi men’s is a loose, ling shirt that is long enough to reach below the knees; this long shirt is used with baggy trousers called shalwar and also used turban. The turban is a long fabric wrap around a turban cap on the head. A palm leaf sandals and leather shoes are used. A wrap or a shawl called chaddar is used in winter it gives them extra warmth and can also be used as sash, towel or headcloth, it can also be used to take things.
The traditional Balochi dress for women is a long shirt called “Pashk” reaches to ankles, with a wrap for the head covering, shoulder and upper body. They usually avoided bright colors, but scarlet color is famous among the marriageable age girls while widows use black color. Women use different kinds of jewelry like earrings, nose, rings, finger rings, bracelets, necklaces and different kinds of hair ornaments. They used jewelry made from silver, gold it depends on what the person can pay for.
