Pakistan has a very strong and rich cultural heritage; all the cultural festivals are celebrated all over the Pakistan with great zeal and zest. Different organizations play an important role in promoting Pakistani Cultural heritage, the best picture we can see in Lok versa and Lok Museum these are the biggest source of promoting Pakistani Culture. In the month of October a colorful festival is held at Islamabad, this festival includes all the cultural groups from all over the Pakistan including their folk dances, handicrafts and their music. All the stalls represent the life style of different region, and there are also many other beautiful and interesting things and events.

The traditional folk heritage of Punjab has a thousand years of history. The official language of that province is Urdu; there are also large numbers of other local languages through which people can communicate with each other. These other languages include Punjabi, saraiki, Photohari, Jangli and Jatki. The ballads, songs, epics and romance are usually sung and written in these languages. In different parts of Punjab there are different folk tales that are famous all over the province. These folk tales includes Saiful Maluk, Mirza Sahiban, Heer Ranjha, Yousaf Zulakhan, Sohni Mahiwal, Poran Bhughat, Sassi Punnu and Dulla Bhatti.

The spiritual folk songs include Kafees of Khwaja Farid in Saraiki, shalooks and Punjabi by Baba Farid Shakar Ganj. They also include Loris, Jungi, Sehra, Baits and dohras. The most popular romantic love songs are Dhamaal, Bhangra, Luddi and Mayaiah. Romantic dances of Punjab include Dhola, Summin and Giddha.
