Pakistani food

Pakistan is situated in the South Asia. Almost 95% population of Pakistan is Muslims, chicken, beef, fish and lamb are some of the basic food of Pakistan. Curry and spices are very important in Pakistani recipes, the most used spices are paprika, chili powder, red pepper, cumin seed, coriander, cloves, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, poppy seeds, bay leaf. These spices are used in the main dishes but the side dish is plain rice. Lenticels are also the most common and specialty, the food in south area is spicier, while in the north area the barbecued meat is more important dish. They mostly like fried recipes, ghee and butter is usually used for frying.

Flour and wheat items are considered as the main food items in our daily diet. Pickles, sauces, chutneys with spicy foods like meat, chicken seafood, lenticels and vegetables are very much liked by the people, and this is the reason that Pakistani cuisine has such a different taste. Green tea is the most famous and typical drink that is served with all meals.

There are some special occasions like Eid-ul-Fitar, Eid-ul-Azha, Ramadan, Shab-e-barat, Shab-e-qadar all these occasion have some special foods like pudding, halwa and naan are distributed among the poor people, friends and relatives. Sher khurma is the special sweet dish of Eid-ul-Fitar, Pakistan has very rich food culture and has many dishes including deserts, beef, chicken, seafood, mutton, pulses and vegetables.
