Shaban is the eighth month of Islamic calendar year.  On the 15th  night of Shaban, festival of shab-e-barat is celebrated. Ultimately it happens to just 15 days before Ramadan, the holy month of Islam. The night of Shab—e-Barat is the sign of the night of forgiveness. On this night people normally pray to ALLAH in the preparation of the holy month Ramadan and also pray to ALLAH for forgiveness of all the sins previously done. According to the Islamic teachings, on this night the Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H gets the pain by visiting all the homes and consequently makes an attempt to ease humanity from all types of suffering and pain. The holy night of Shab-e-Barat commemorate the entry of Muhammad P.B.U.H in the holy city Macca. The festival of Shab-e-Barat is famous for its renowned celebrations. This festival is celebrated specially at night; as a result of glittering fireworks the sky gets brightened. Street and houses are also enlightened with bulbs and candles. Different types of sweets and desserts are distributed among relatives, friends and neighbors in night. Some people are also spent this time in charity work. On the eve of this festival Fatiha are also recited on the food, all this is done in the name of Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H, Hazrat Fatima his daughter and her husband Ali (R.A). it is the Islamic believe if someone pray to ALLAH on this night with purity of heart for the forgiveness of his/ her all previous sins he/ she had done, he/she might be forgiven for all the sins he/she committed. Some people also go to mosque for mediation and also offer prayer. During the late night Muslims are also known to offer some additional prayers on this night, there are also some special prayers and dowas for this night.
