Movie “The Hunger Games” whose appetite remained long lasting since its release and topped all the chart smashing box office will now be screened in China. After the arrival of Titanic’s director Cameron in China, Hollywood industry began to establish its feet there. Lionsgate Inc. did much effrots for the approval of screening “The Hunger Games” in china.
“The Hunger Games” remained at top of the box office for 4 weeks. Movies’ bosses are saying that “Hunger Games” has not yet been released to many countries that could have boosted the movie business.
“China is already one of the leading territories at the international box office,” Lionsgate co-chairs Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman said in a statement.
“And the launch of The Hunger Games in this key market is another sign of the franchise’s continuing emergence as a truly global phenomenon,” they added.
“The Hunger Games” has done the business of approx. $600m worldwide so far. The movie has also been honored with the eight MTV Movie Awards.
