The legendary saraiki folk singer of Pakistan, Pathanay Khan has been once again paid a huge tribute at his 12th death anniversary. Whole nation recognized his efforts for the music industry on Friday across the country. Pathanay Khan in his whole life sang Kafis and Ghazals of sufi poetry inspired by Khawaja Ghulam Farid and Shah hussain.
The great singer opened his eyes in small town of Pakistan called Basti Tambu Wali, located in Thal Desert from Kot Addu in 1926. He had a very unique style of delivering ghazals which was then followed by various latest artists. The spirit for singing remained as much higher since the start of his life that whoever have listened him went deep in heart and soul. In recognition of his efforts, he was also given the president’s pride of performance.
Pathany Khan met his eternal fate dated March 9, 2012 at his native town. Probably thousands of people attended his funeral including singers, poets, intellectuals, educationalists, governing bodies of that time, lawyers and many others personnel of different professions.
