Year 2011 has been observed as the heavy year for Pakistani entertainers especially the stage comedian. 2011 year took lives of legendary stage’s comic-actors that include Moin Akhtar, Babbu Baral, Liaquat Soldier and many others. 2012 has also marked his vicious dent once again on the Pakistani entertaining industry when it was reported that Tamanna Begum has walked upon the stairway to heaven. She was under constant illness and died at the age of 75. She left behind a daughter and a granddaughter.
Tamanna Begum started her career from Radio Pakistan. She then later stepped in theatre where she proved her skills as an uprising star. She is specially known for the comic roles and super hit film “Dekha Jayega”. As the Pakistani film industry reached his top era fame in mid-70’s, it is said that Tamanna Begum was one of the factor that provided her unconditional services. She then later on shifted herself on TV.
Nawab Huzoorul Hassan, a film critic said while glancing upon her legendary performances
“She was one of those who could play any character with perfection. However, what she was largely known for was her comic characters and her perfect screen timing. Undoubtedly, it is a terrible loss to the film industry.”
