5.8 earthquake hits Indonesia

JAKARTA: on Wednesday 5.8 moderate earth quake struck off Indonesia’s eastern Maluku islands, US geological survey reported, but no causality or damage reports are visible yet.

The incidence happened at 10:38P.m local time at a shallow depth of 10miles (16 km) Northwest of Ambon, Reported USGS.

Indonesia sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire”, where the meeting of continental plates causes high volcanic and seismic activity.
