The majority of persons injured at Uribana prison in Lara condition experienced gunshot wounds, stated a healthcare facility official, Ruy Medina. He called the death toll “alarming,” saying it had been based exclusively on bodies brought towards the hospital. Medina stated the inmates started coming in the hospital shortly before midday, which 14 from the injured had wounds severe enough to want surgery.
