Afridi overstep Kumble

Dubai: Pakistan’s all- round performer Shahid Afridi has overstep Anil Kumble’s record of 337 wickets after 271 ODIs.

 Afridi got the achievement in a match, which Afghanistanlost by 7 wickets to Pakistan. This was Afghanistan’s 1st ever ODI against a Test-playing nation in Sharjah.

 Afridi has overstepped Anil Kumble’s tally of 337 wickets at 30.89 in 271 ODIs.

 Afridi’s compute of 338 wickets at 32.88 is improved only by 2 Pakistanis in ODIs – Wasim Akram 502 and Waqar Younis 416.  Overall, Afridi’s compute is the 8 highest in ODIs.

 Afridi has taken his 28th Man of the Match prize in ODIs.  He has equivalent Saeed Anwar’s tally.

 Shahid Afridi’s 1st 5-wicket pull againstAfghanistan is his 8 in ODIs.

 Afridi’s 8 examples of 5 wickets or extra in an innings have been exceeded by 3 bowlers in ODIs – Waqar Younis (13), Muttiah Muralitharan (10) and Brett Lee (9).

 Afridi has done his 75 wickets at 28.97 runs apiece in 69 matches in UAE.

 Afridi’s aforesaid tally is the fourth highest in UAE – the top three bowlers are Wasim Akram (122), Waqar Younis (114) and Muttiah Muralitharan (82).

 Afridi’s 5 for 36 is his second 5-wicket haul at Sharjah.  He had bagged 5 wickets for 35 runs againstSri Lankaon November 20, 2011.

 Afridi has taken 5 wickets or extra in an innings 6 times at neutral venues the 2nd top tally, next only to Waqar Younis (7).
