Anti-Polio drive delayed

152851_87559619A three-day anti-polio vaccination campaign continues to be postponed till The month of 21st January because of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s long march. Rawalpindi District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saqib Zafar presided on the meeting to produce the anti-polio drive, where it had been made the decision the campaign is going to be postponed till The month of 21st january as proper security wouldn’t be open to the vaccination teams. It should be pointed out here the district health department had required police protection for that vaccinators particularly in high-risk regions of the district following the killing of nine of the co-workers on December 17 and December 18. Health Executive District Officer Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal stated over 700,000 children over the district could be given anti-polio drops throughout the 3-day vaccination campaign.
