Death Toll Rises to 40 in Church Attacks of Nigeria

A series of bombs blasted during the Christmas morning services on Sunday in Nigeria that killed at least 40 worshippers and dozens of wounded. An Islamist group Boko Haram has accepted the responsibility of bombing of a church outside the capital Abuja.

Nigeria’s national security adviser accused Boko Haram of suicide attacks on church and blamed it for horrific tragedy in Nigeria. The Vatican, many western states and Washington condemned the attack on Christians.

Nigerian government seems to be unable to control sectarian violence in Nigeria despite the use of military crackdown.

Nigerian government has also arrested few members of militant Boko Haram.

Nigeria is facing terrific sectarian violence these days that divided the country into Muslim north and Christian south.
