Malik Riaz came back from the entrance of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s house after the latter declined to carry talks with the Chaudhry brothers on putting off or rescheduling his suggested long march on Jan 14.
Malik Riaz along with Pakistan Muslim League-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervez Elahi showed up at Qadri’s house to carry discussions with the cleric. Television channels presented Mlik Riaz attempting to woo Qadri to cancel his march because of security risks as numerous people had lost their lives in fresh bombings across the nation during the past few days.
Qadri unconditionally declined to postpone his march, saying his long march “couldn’t be bought”. He repeated his resolve 3 times the march would be carried out at all costs.
On this occasion, Pervez Elahi stated that they took Malik Riaz with them, as his ‘speedy wisdom’ during this kind of situations. Throughout the press talks, Malik Riaz told Qadri that though he was departing, Chaudhry Shujaat and Pervez Elahi ought to be permitted inside for talks.
