PCB in negotiation with Whatmore

KARACHI: on Sunday PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) said that former World Cup wining Sri Lankan Coach Dav Whatmore to finalize his appointment as the lead coach of the national team.

Since September when waqar Younis left the team because of health problems, national team has no full time coach.

Subhan Ahmed Pakistan Cricket Board chief operating officer told media that “PCB is in process to finalize the appointments and for this purpose they are in discussion with Whatmore”

In second week of January Whatmore is expected to come to Pakistan. He added

Mohsin Khan Former opening batsman has been serving the national team as an interim coach and was hold on for next month England series in United Arab Emirates.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s Whatmore 57-year-old played for Australia and was termed as the most skilled and successful coaches in international cricket and won World cup title for Sri Lanka in 1996.

Recently he enjoyed a marvelous coaching experience with Bangladesh and is at present in charge of the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL (Indian Premier League)
