Pakistan’s right-arm off-spin bowler Saeed Ajmal has topped the new One Day International (ODI) bowlers ranking at the end of an impressive Pakistan-Sri Lanka series that ended with Pakistan’s 4-1 victory released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In team rankings, Pakistan moved up from the sixth position to fifth after defeating Sri Lanka in the ODI series held in the United Arab Emirates.
Ajmal is also rated at the ninth position in the Test bowlers of the world.
Saeed Ajmal took 11 wickets in the 5-match series at an average of just 16.27 and an economy-rate of less than 4.00 to help his side to a 4-1 series win. That effort won him five places on the latest rankings and puts him at the top. Ajmal grabbed that position from New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori who has retired from ODI and T20 after the World Cup 2011.
Great Pakistani bowlers Shahid Afridi and Muhammad Hafeez bagged the seventh and eight positions of the top 10 ODI bowlers, respectively while Mohammad Hafeez is at no. 3 and Afridi no. 4 in All Rounder category.
Pakistan stands at the sixth position in the ICC Test rankings.
No Pakistani batsmen could make to the top-ten batting list.
