Snowfall in Quetta

2008-11-19_1416_Governor_houseThe chilly waves from east introduced a dust-storm last evening within the city and drag  the people towards the markets to purchase warm clothes to protect themselves from severe cold.

The severe cold wave conditions have prvailed from (Friday) and snowfall occured at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan throughout the following 24 hrs.

The Meteorological Department had earlier forecast a mainly cold and dry weather for many areas particularly Khyber Pakhutnkhwa and Balochistan province with possibility of light rains at isolated places.

It stated that rain with light snowfall within the hillsides is probably at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara divisions and Parachinar.

Based on the Meteorological Department, the lowest minimum temps recorded throughout the final 24 hrs were Skardu -11C, Quetta -10C, Parachinar -9C, Astore -8C, Hunza and Gupis -5C, Kalam -4C, Dir -3C, Chitral, Drosh and Gilgit -2C.
