Almond Shahi Tukrey
Its truly a shahi (royal) dessert, as its name suggests.Shahi Tukray is a rich bread pudding recipe with dry fruits, flavoured with cream, khoya and almonds. It’s simple to make and a great sweet dish to be served on festivals and special days.
Preheat oven to 180 degree C.
Cut bread slices into four pieces.
Heat clarified butter in pan.
Fry bread slices until golden.
Remove and arrange in a tray.
Dissolve sugar and saffron in a cup of milk. Pour this mixture over fried bread.
In a bowl, add remaining cup milk with cream and khoya. Mix well.
Pour over soaked bread and leave it for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle sliced almonds, pistachios and kewra water
Bake until well done.
