The bacon stops the cheese being too much and goes with the pasta very well.This freezable, family friendly recipe is economical and has a wonderful comfort food feel about it.
Heat oil in a pan and fry onions until golden. Add oregano and bacon and fry for 5 mins,
Add the tomatoes, season and cook for 5 mins. Remove from heat and stir in basil.
In a pan pour milk ,butter and flour. Whisk continuously over a moderate heat, then simmer, stirring until thickened.
Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Make layers,first layer of lasagne strips, second layer of tomato sauce, third layer of white sauce and repeat this third times.
On top put cheese and grating of nutmeg.
Bake at 190C until golden
