Dal is sprouted and then cooked with a whole lot of spices, onions, ginger and garlic to result in an aromatic preparation.
- Coriander powder,
- cumin seeds,
- garam masala,
- Ginger Garlic Paste,
- Turmeric powder
Heat oil in large pan and add onions and ginger garlic paste.
When onions turn translucent, add garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, sugar, salt and tomatoes.
When oil comes up, add dal and 2 cups of water and allow to cook on a low flame till dal is done.
Add coconut milk, mix and bring to a boil.
Serve hot with steamed rice
