  • Ingredients:


    Wash the lentil thoroughly
    Add lentil, water, onion, garlic paste, ginger paste, turmeric, ground coriander and ground cumin in a pot – cook until lentil is tender
    Transfer lentil to blender.Once liquefied, transfer back to the pot
    Add tamarind liquid to the lentil
    Cook on medium heat for 10-15 mins
    Add salt and stir
    In separate pan add oil for tarka and heat
    Add cumin, dried peppers and garlic, peppers and cumin and fry until brown , peppers and cumin
    Remove lentil from the heat
    Add the tarka to the daal and immediately cover to seal the smoky flavor.
    Serve with white rice
