It may have originated from the royal kitchens, but this one’s a delight to make in the kitchen as well as relish.
- bottle gourd pieces,
- cumin seeds,
- green gram,
- Turmeric powder
Wash and soak lentils for half an hour. Drain.
Add tomatoes, bottle gourd, turmeric powder, salt and 3 cups of water and pressure cook till lentils are tender.
Heat oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds.
When seeds crackle, add the garlic, green chillies, ginger and onions and saute’ till onions turn golden brown in color.
Add cooked lentil and 1 cup of water and bring to boil.
