Steamed rice is pretty simple to make.Steamed rice is a versatile staple of many different regional cuisines. It is the back bone of a meal and fairly easy to make, if you follow some basic steps.
Wash rice and soak in water for half an hour. Drain and keep aside.
Boil 8 cups of water, add salt and 1 1/2 tbsp of oil.
Add rice to the boiling water. Cook till rice is 80% cooked.
Pour into colander and let water drain out. Pour cold water on rice.
Let all water from the rice drain out
Add remaining 1 1/2 tbsp oil and toss rice in it
Spread cooked rice on a flat surface till it is cool.
Serve with curry.
