Honesty is the most important part of Islam. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) was popular for his honesty and truthfulness far ago from Islam. During all of his life he always forced people to show honesty in their regular matters related to their life. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said “when honesty is lost weight for the hour (the day of judgment)”. When there is dishonesty takes place every where in the world it will lead to many other problems like fraud, lie, cheating, fights and many more. Honesty is not only in the words but are also important to have in every single Muslim.
Honesty is a quality of a true Muslim. An honest person is always remaining far away from many other evils. Honesty and lie are two inter-related terms. A person is honest it means he is not telling lie or never take the help of lie in his deeds, but if any one is not honest it is simple to understand that he is a big liar and cheater. Therefore in Qur’an ALLAH also narrated.
“O you who believe, Fear ALLAH, and be with those who are true (in words and in deeds)” ( Qur’an 9:119)
Every true Muslim should try to make himself honest if he wants to become a real follower of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W). The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) has spent his whole life as an example of honesty. He also emphasized on honesty as an important quality of a Muslim. If a person is not honest it means he is not Muslim. The reason is very clear that dishonesty leads to many other bad habits.
“Honesty descended from the heavens and settled in the roots of the hearts of men (true believers), and then the Qur’an was revealed and the people read the Qur’an, (and learnt it from it) and also learnt from sayings and traditions. Both the Qur’an and traditions strengthened their honesty” ( Saheeh Al-Bukhari).
