Islamic History: Test of Muslim Scholars by the Romans

After being defeated by the Muslims a number of times, the Romans decided to stop fighting for a while and think of other ways to humiliate the Muslims. Once a minister of the Roman council came up with an idea:” I believe that for the time being we cannot defeat the Muslims. The Muslims claim that they follow the true religion, Islam and their Prophet Muhammad (SAW). I think we should ask our scholars to create some very difficult questions which we will send to the Muslim Caliph. I am sure they won’t be able to answer those questions; thus their claim of a true religion will nullify.”

The Roman Emperor liked the idea very much and at once ordered a team of scholars to prepare a tough questionnaire.  He sent the questionnaire to the Muslim caliph of the time, Ameer Ma’aviya (RAU). The delegate presented the questionnaire and said that their Emperor needed some help as to find the answers of these difficult questions, but the Calpih understood their true intentions. He at once sent the questionnaire to the only scholar he was sure would give the right answers.

The scholar read the questions and answered them in a short time. The questions were:
