How many times has the thought crossed your mind that if you had more time, you would have prayed for longer, offered Nawafil or done many other good deeds (Hasanahs) that you know and can but just can’t find enough time to do so.
What were you sent to do on this earth, in this life? Run after making money to meet both ends? Looking after the house and kids? OR to do all these things in accordance to the teachings of Islam such that all of those were achieved but the priority was given to Haqooq-ul-Allah.
Although we often complain about the lack of time and busy schedules, yet we waste a lot of time. We seldom realize the true value of a single minute. Here are some of the things that you can do in a single minute, while waiting for a bus, waiting for someone to pick up the phone or open the door, while climbing up the stairs or taking a walk. This one minute can yield far better rewards than you can ever imagine.
IN ONE MINUTE YOU CAN:
1. Recite Surat-ul-Fatiha three times silently in your heart.
According to many scholars, reciting surat-ul-Fatiha once is equal to 600 good deeds or Hasanahs.
So, 1 minute= 3 times Surat-ul-Fatiha= 600 Hasanahs
2. Recite Surat-ul-Ikhlas 12 times silently in your heart.
According to scholars and some ahadith, reciting Surat-ul-Ikhlas one times is equal to reciting one thirds of Quran. Reciting Surat-ul-Ikhlaas three times means you get the hasanah of reciting a whole Quran.
So, 1 minute =12 times Surat-ul-Ikhlas= Hasanah for reading Quran 4 times.
3. Recite لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وحْـدَهُ لا شَـريكَ لهُ، لهُ المُـلْكُ ولهُ الحَمْـد، وهُوَ على كُلّ شَيءٍ قَدير
According to hadith, reciting this dua 10 times equals in hasanah for freeing 10 slaves from the people of Ismaeel (AS)
So, 1 minute = 20 timesلا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وحْـدَهُ لا شَـريكَ لهُ، لهُ المُـلْكُ ولهُ الحَمْـد، وهُوَ على كُلّ شَيءٍ قَدير =hasanah for freeing 20 slaves from the people of Ismaeel (AS)
4. Recite 100 times سُبْحـانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْـدِهِ
According to hadith, if you say it 100 times, your sins are forgiven even if they equal to the foam of the sea.
So, 1 minute= 100 times سُبْحـانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْـدِهِ =Forgiveness of sins
5. Recite 100 times أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
Begging for forgiveness has more rewards than we can ever imagine: It has been told as a means of attaining forgiveness and entering Jannah, the means of being granted a good life, increasing one’s strength, warding off disasters, making things easier, bringing rain and increasing one’s wealth and children.
These are only a few of the many things that can be done in a single minute. May Allah Forgive us and Guide us Onto the right path. Ameen.
