Bahawalpur Zoo and Museum

In 1942 Bahawalpur zoo was set up by the former Aamir of Bahawalpur. It is constructed on 25 acres of land, Bahawal Zoo is different and unique from all the other zoo in Pakistan in term of the breeding of loins apart from this, it also have the pride of the breeding of dapple tiger, black bear and Bengal tiger for the first time in Pakistan. It is not only an area of enjoyment and fun for both elders and teen agers but it is also very helpful for students researching about wild life. There is a fish pond in which there are different types of beautiful and colorful fishes including star fish.

There is a museum in the Zoo; the last Emperor of Bahawalpur Nawab saddique Khan (v) was fond of collecting animals, antiques and also nourishing different types of birds. In this museum there are not only antiques but animals are also kept with great care.

In the museum the lion, watch, fish, crocodile, black tiger and many other animals of the 1942 and 1974 are still look fresh. In the present time this museum is well known for its antiques, collections of tickets, old notes of different countries including Pakistan, coins and birds and animals. It is also popular for the historical information that someone can get from it.
