Faisal Masjid is one the most religious place to visit in Pakistan. It is situated in the capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad near the Margala hills. This place of the Faisal Masjid shows its position and importance as it is visible in day and night many miles in the surrounding. This mosque is constructed in the memory of the great late king of Saudi Arabia Faisal, who very happily bears the expenditure of this project and gift it to the people of Pakistan.
In the beginning this mosque was considered as the national masjid of the Islamic nation and was considered as the sign of objectives and hope of Pakistan. Its structure was design by a Turkish architect and his design is selected through international competition. He combines the modern and Islamic ideas of a mosque that perfectly reflect people’s hopes and desires. Its main hall is eight faceted concrete shells. Its surface is covered with white marbles and inside the mosque is decorated in the Turkish decoration style. It has the accommodation of 10,000 people for prayer.
The Faisal mosque has four minarets of measure 300’, its minarets are pointed and slim. Its porch has the capacity of 24,000 and the courtyard provides an additional space for more 40,000 people.
