Lahore Fort-Shahi Qila Lahore

If you are included among the people who loves the ancient and beautiful buildings including the skills of the builders from the reign of Mughal emperors and before their reigns so Lahore fort is one of the buildings that totally gains your attention. It is also referred its name and famous for the name Shahi Qila. The Qila is located in the northwestern corner of the walled city Lahore. Over 20 hectares this marvelous trapezoidal composition of building spread.


It is an ancient building gets its origins as far back as antiquity, but the base was built during the rule of Mughal Emperor Akbar (1556-1605) who was secular and was regularly upgraded by subsequent rulers, having thirteen gates in all in Hindustan (India). The Lahore fort however divided into different sites which are very famous includes the places like

Alamgiri Gate

Naulakha Pavilion

Moti Masjid

Sheesh Mahal

The fort was inscribed as Unesco World Heritage Site in 1981, along with the Shalimar Gardens (Lahore). At Expo 2010 in Pakistan Pavilion it was also consider and design as a replica of the fort and the structure of the fort dominated by Persian gardens and successively refurbishments by rulers or emperors of that time.
