“Ziarat” is the Capital city of district Ziarat and one of famous tourist resorts in Pakistan. It’s at a distance of about 120 Km from Quetta city. It’s about 2400 meters above the sea level, due to which weather is moderate in summer and very much cold in winters. During the winter very huge crowd of tourists from Quetta and many other cities rush toward Ziarat to enjoy the beautiful surrounding of Ziarat valley. The most important reason for the fame of Ziarat is because Quaid e Azam Mohhamed Ali Jinnah Stayed there in the last days of his life. Apples and cherries of Ziarat are famous throughout the country. In both the seasons trees of Ziarat are ladder of seasonal fruits, due to which honey bees utilizing the nectar of these fruits produce a high quality, which is an attraction for the tourists also. Moreover Ziarat’s fame another reason is the Juniper Forests; the 2nd largest Juniper Forest in the world which is more than 100 Sq Km. There are more than four species of Juniper found in Ziarat. Most of these trees are more than 5000 years old. About eight Km from Ziarat city there is Shrine of Kherwari Baba, his real name was Tahir and was a follower of Nana Sahib, most of the tourists visiting Ziarat also come to the Shrine of Kherwari Baba to pray and sacrifice in memory of Kherwari Baba.
On the occasions of Eid a wrestling Competition is organized by tribesmen at the Shrine of Kherwari Baba and a huge crowd is gathered to enjoy the wrestling matches. Another Shine attracting visitor’s attention is the Shrine of Nau Gaza Baba (Nine yards Saint), he was called Nau Gaza Baba due to sudden increase in his height after the death, which increased up to nine yards, and his shrine is at about one Km distance from Ziarat city surrounded by graveyards.
